Cad Operator

Must be proficient in AutoCAD (2012 or newer), BricsCAD, and/or Revit and no more than 2 years of lapse in CAD drafting.

Candidate should be able to easily draw a floor plan from scratch accurately as well as modify existing drawings.

Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Must be self-motivated, eager to learn, loves teamwork, and wants to work. These are essential skills for a successful virtual team.

Must be well organized, have great written communication skills, and be able to work within the fast-paced time frames given by the designer.

A candidate who is fresh out of school (college or trade) is acceptable provided their emphasis was in CAD drafting, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.

High school or equivalent education required.

Someone who has been in the business world is a plus. However, this position is entry level CAD, so over-qualified candidates are not acceptable.

Experience in the construction field is a plus, especially electrical or mechanical construction.

Experience in low voltage systems (fire alarm, security, sound, etc.) is a plus, but if they are willing to learn the industry, my team is willing to teach them.

Additional Description information:

Receive project assignments from Design Team member.

Under supervision, prepare construction drawings required to support the installation of electronic special systems (fire alarm, security, access control, and other low voltage specialty systems) Electronic systems drawings will typically consist of items such as floor plan layouts, riser diagrams, electrical interconnections drawings and installation terminations.

Prepare submittal documentation (i.e. data sheets, battery calculations) Maintain project drawing files, and associated records and documentation tracking & maintaining as-built drawings Perform other duties as assigned
