At Coding with Kids, we are inspiring the next generation of innovators for the STEM careers of tomorrow! If you love kids and you love code, you will love being a part of our growing team.


Coding with Kids teaches computer programming to K-12 student in after-school classes, evening classes and camps. We are looking for smart, motivated candidates to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has both experience working with children and has basic knowledge of computer programming concepts and languages. While that is the ideal candidate, if you are motivated to learn more in either area, we will provide training.


As an instructor, you would teach either our after-school classes, evening classes or camps. You would be responsible for delivering our high quality curriculum, building relationships with your students, helping those with minimal skills and challenging those who are ahead. We provide curriculum and lesson plans, but leave room for creativity, adjustments and FUN!


What we are looking for:

  • Strong Communication Skills

  • Passion for educating children

  • Ability to interact with students and parents alike

  • Experience with computer programming

  • Experience with children in a classroom or camp setting

Pay:

  • Instructors receive hourly rate plus bonuses for each class they teach.

  • Hourly rate ranges approximately $13-$20/h. With bonuses, new instructors can make about $30 per class, experienced instructors can reach $50 per class.


Schedule:

  • After-school classes typically run at 3pm in the afternoon, one class per day. Some morning classes are also available.

  • Center classes happen in evenings or weekends. One instructor in a center class can typically teach 2 classes in the evening, or up to 3 on the weekend. 

  • Summer camps offer half-time to full-time employment opportunities.

  • Typical instructor teaches 2-3 after-school classes per week, but we have some limited opportunities up to 15-20h/week.


Commute:

  • Teaching classes requires travel to the various schools in the area. 

  • We try to schedule your classes to minimize your travel time and accommodate your schedule.

  • Having your own transportation is not required, but is a strong advantage in reducing your commute time.
